91 POINTS - "When I popped the cork on this sleeping giant, the energy of this wine quickly came to life with lofty aromas of red and black fruits intertwined with hints of roasted fig, black tea, fresh tobacco, forest floor, sultry spices, and roasted chestnuts. On the palate, the rich and concentrated flavors of dark cherry, ripe plum, pomegranate and black currants are enhanced with secondary notes of dried cranberry, crushed clove, black trumpet mushrooms, dark chocolate, and a lingering hint of hickory smoke on the finish. In contrast to being big, powerful, tannic and stubborn when it was young; it was joy to follow how this regal wine opened up in the glass. The end result was a fantastic example of how a fine Cabernet from Napa Valley can age gracefully in the bottle and, in turn, become more complex, elegant and food-friendly over time. A wonderful experience and a great deal for the price." - Chris Sawyer
