WINEMAKER NOTES
A true reflection of that signature Rutherford dust, this Cabernet Sauvignon embodies an old world meets new world style. The Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is hand crafted entirely from our Rutherford Estate, sourcing from the top 5% off the property. Exhibiting rich characteristics of dark complex fruits, minerality and balanced intensity, the layers of this wine truly reflect our vineyards terroir.

Blend: 98% Cabernet Sauvignon & 2% Petit Verdot

Alcohol: 14.7%
92 POINTS - "Round Pond's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford is attractive, even if it is at times a bit monolithic. The dark cherry, plum, smoke, menthol and tobacco flavors speak with baritone intensity. Powerful and resonant in the glass, the 2015 has more than enough depth and persistence to drink well for a number of years. Its biggest competition, quite frankly, comes from some of the other wines in the range." - Vinous

90 POINTS - "Blackberry compote, ivy and plum liqueur as well as some crème de cassis are prominent on the nose. Full-bodied with round tannins, lots of ripe fruit and a fruit-forward finish. Drink in 2021." - James Suckling

90 POINTS - "Soft and supple in milk chocolate and cherry, this wine contains 2% Petit Verdot. Dried herb, sage and pencil shavings contribute a savory complement to the richness of the ripe fruit." - Wine Enthusiast
This estate-grown Cabernet evolves in the glass from aromatics of wild strawberry and rhubarb to notes of red licorice and cocoa dust. The plush entry of ripe black cherry and blackberry pie on the palate is followed by rich tones of toffee, fresh oak, and a hint of black pepper. Elegant and supple, this wine shows a lengthy and pleasing granite-like finish.
