93 POINTS - "With an attractive dark crimson red hue, the wine opens up with lofty scents of ripe red fruits, wild berries, mocha, and roasted nuts. On the palate, the vibrant flavors of dark cherry, blackberry, blueberry and cassis are balanced with red fruit notes of ripe red plum, cranberry, and savory spices. While the favors are deep and rich, the texture is balanced with a medley of soft, silky tannins, bright acidity, firm structure, and a long, persistent finish. Outstanding." - Chris Sawyer
93 POINTS - "A great representation of a red blend from this region. Just entering its drinking age (or cellar for up to 8 more years) it is a stunner. Cherries, BlackBerry, and a hint of blue and purple fruit with violets and rose petals giving a floral elegance. Tastes of bramble brush, cocoa, and cedar plank give the structure to this wine. The acids are strong and will hold up to a fatty rib eye steak and the tannins are supple. If your doing a multi bottle night make sure to open this hidden treasure early in the evening." - Steve Kleinfeld
93 POINTS - "The entry of this wine was velvety with a hint of acid. Purple and black fruits in great balance with a hint of sweetness and youth. Middle of this wine is more complex, with hints of herbs, a little bit of red pepper but a fair amount of herbaceousness. The finish is fruit, leather, herbs, a little sweetness, and just incredible. Made in Bordeaux style. This one will hold for a while, with incredible aging potential." - M. Flesh
92 POINTS - "Very dark and dense, with a subdued but lovely nose. Not over ripe but very fruity in the mouth with a good level of soft structural tannins. Want to revisit this fall after some bottle aging but this looks like a long haul winner." - B. Woodbridge

Aromas begin with ripe blackberry and boysenberry, and lead to a dark chocolate character derived from new French oak. On the palate, its texture is bold and rich, accompanied by sweet, dark fruit flavors and fine-grained tannins, a notable characteristic of the Rutherford appellation. While delicious now if decanted for 1-2 hours, the 2013 will evolve nicely with short-term aging.
