94 POINTS - "Made with pristine fruit from a single vineyard in the heart of Napa Valley, the deep aromas of this limited library wine starts with lively notes of dark fruits, licorice, black tea, bittersweet chocolate, mineral and cigar box framed with distinctive hints of fresh bay laurel, dried herbs, and baking spice. In the glass, the expressive flavors of ripe plum, dark cherry, black raspberry and currants are lifted with intriguing notes of black trumpet mushrooms, cardamom, toffee, roasted walnuts, and a lingering finish. More importantly, this well-crafted vintage wine continues to reward the palate as it opens up in the glass. With great depth, detail and composure, this is a fun wine trip down memory lane in the making." - Chris Sawyer
Hard cheeses, Eggplant Parmesan, grilled salmon, pan-seared duck breast with a cherry reduction sauce, roasted wild boar, Ribeye steak served rare, or a fine cigar.
