Andrew Cain 2013 Oak Knoll 100% Cabernet is made by Mark Jessup. Jessup held key winemaking positions, working on special projects such as the Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignons and the early Opus One wines.

Located just a few miles north of downtown Napa, the Oak Knoll District is distinguished by its perfect balance of warm days, cool nights and foggy mornings that allow plenty of time for the premium grapes to mature on the vines before being picked. Through the years, these ideal conditions have produced a long string of memorable Cabernet Sauvignon selections with expressive flavors, smooth tannins and vibrant acidity that allows the finished wines to age gracefully in the cellar.

96 POINTS - "Following the winery’s commitment to crafting single vineyard, terroir-driven wines from Napa Valley, this special library selection was made with high-quality grapes grown on a four-acre parcel off Big Ranch Road. With an attractive crimson red hue, the wine opens up with lofty aromas of red and dark fruits, accented with more delicate notes of crushed violets, fresh sage, cocoa, caramel, and roasted hazelnuts. On the palate, the deep, rich and complex flavors of ripe plum, dark cherry, black currants and fresh boysenberry are layered with notes of cassis, toffee and baking spices. In the glass, these lush flavors are complimented with silky texture and a smooth, long and graceful finish. The end result is a dynamic, sophisticated and enjoyable wine that reflects the true character of a fine Cabernet Sauvignon made with world-class grapes grown the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley." - Chris Sawyer
