WINEMAKER NOTES
The 2023 Bravium Rosé of Pinot Noir is a radiant expression of Anderson Valley’s coastal terroir, a wine that captures the essence of its cool, maritime-influenced origins with precision and charm. Sourced from the historic Wiley Vineyard, nestled just nine miles from the Pacific Ocean, this Rosé is crafted from a mosaic of prized Pinot Noir clones—Ponmard, Swan, Wadenswil, and more—each contributing depth and nuance to the final blend. The vineyard’s shallow Franciscan soils and meticulous farming, overseen by Bravium since 2018, yield grapes of exceptional purity, while the 2023 vintage’s mild summer and August warmth ensured optimal ripeness and vibrant acidity.

Hand-harvested at night to preserve freshness, the grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed, with the juice fermented spontaneously in a selection of seasoned French and Hungarian oak barrels from revered cooperages like Damy, Francois Freres, and Taransaud. Three months of élevage have shaped a Rosé of remarkable texture and complexity. In the glass, it glows with a luminous pink-salmon hue, unfolding aromas of rose petals, hibiscus, and violets. The palate is a harmonious blend of green tea, pomegranate, and red berries, all enlivened by a bright, citrus-tinged acidity. A subtle spice note lingers on the finish, adding intrigue to this beautifully layered wine.

With only 2,238 cases produced, this limited-release Rosé is a treasure for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Perfect for savoring on its own or alongside seasonal dishes—grilled seafood, heirloom tomato salads, or Provençal-inspired cuisine—it embodies the Latin meaning of Bravium: a true reward. Released in June 2023, this wine is already singing with youthful energy, though its balance and structure suggest it will delight for years to come. A testament to Anderson Valley’s sublime beauty, the 2023 Bravium Rosé of Pinot Noir is a gift of the vintage, offering both immediate pleasure and a glimpse into the artistry behind its creation.

90 POINTS - "A very pleasant and fresh rosé. Notes of watermelon and fresh red fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied, with energetic acidity balanced out with a creamy texture." - James Suckling

Brilliant pale pink salmon hue, with effusive rose petal, hibiscus, and cherry blossom aromas. Signature peach and citrus tones, with lemon zest and Cara cara orange commingling with strawberry, apricot, and nectarine flavors. Nice fullness on the front and mid-palate as the acidity hits mostly on the back of the palate, adding refreshing length to the finish. This Rosé is fresh, vivacious, and delicious.
