WINERMAKER NOTES
The Family Reserve label is the hallmark of our elegant & rich wines produced from grapes harvested from specific vineyard blocks located in our prime vineyards. Our Generations is a tribute to three generations of winemaking by the Mondavi Family while the Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is our Flagship cabernet produced with pride since 1944.

Blend: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon & 4% Petit Verdot

Alcohol: 15.4%
95 POINTS - "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Selection has a deep garnet-purple color and features exuberant notes of crushed black cherries, mulberries and blackcurrant cordial with touches of unsmoked cigars, menthol, yeast extract and pencil shavings. Full-bodied, concentrated and opulent in the mouth, it has a solid line of plush tannins and plenty of backbone freshness to lift the generous fruit to a long fruity finish." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

93 POINTS - "This has a very intense, slightly exotic nose with notes of pomegranate and blood oranges, then serious concentration and plenty of structure on the generous, but not opulent palate. The red and black-fruit flavors are ripe and focused, the finish long and elegant. Drink or hold." - James Suckling
Our 2016 release incorporates pristine fruit from three flagship vineyards: Voltz (39%) and Slinsen (32%) in Yountville and Cold Napa Valley’s 2016 Vintage was what some might call “typical”, with well-timed rain prior to and during the early growing season. The January rains left good moisture in the soil, bud-break came early and canopy growth was rapid and even. A warm but moderate summer followed, with fog mitigating the heat extremes and minimizing dehydration, leading to uniform growth overall.
