Indulge in the Ultimate Experience with Chateau St Jean 2017 Cinq Cépages - A Blend of Bordeaux's Finest Grapes.

Discover the rich and elegant flavors of the 2017 Cinq Cépages, the flagship wine of Chateau St. Jean. Each year, winemaker Margo Van Staaveren selects only the best grapes from top vineyards in Sonoma County to create a wine that showcases the best of the region.

The 2017 vintage of Cinq Cépages features a beautiful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (83%), Merlot (10%), Cabernet Franc (3%), Malbec (3%), and Petit Verdot (1%) from vineyards like Knights Valley, Monte Rosso and Mountain Terraces, Sonoma Valley, Louvau, Stuhlmuller and more. Each component is aged separately for 20 months in 100% French oak, 63% new, resulting in a wine that is rich and inviting, with aromas and flavors of dark fruits, oak spice, and vanilla.

This wine boasts a lush mouthfeel with flavors of fresh raspberry, red and black currant, sweet floral fruit, warm milk chocolate, toasted chestnut and fall spice. The vintage showcases refined and smooth tannins with a silky finish that leaves a memorable aftertaste. Enjoy now or celler for a future reward.

94 POINTS - "Beautiful blackberry, mushroom, bark and oak leaf. Some pine cone, too. Full-bodied, round and savory with layers of ripe fruit. Rather chunky wine, but nicely done. Drink after 2025." - James Suckling

93 POINTS - "The 2017 Cinq Cépages is jam-packed with inky-dark fruit, crème de cassis, chocolate, cloves and licorice. Dense and full-throttle, the Cinq packs a serious punch. The Cinq is undoubtedly racy, but not as opulent as it can be. This is a fine showing for the Cinq." - Vinous
Elegant and inviting, the 2017 Cinq Cépages opens with beautiful aromas of fresh raspberry, red and black currant, sweet floral fruit, and notes of lavender. The lush mouthfeel is filled with supple fruit, warm milk chocolate, toasted chestnut and fall spice flavors. The vintage of Cinq Cépages showcases incredibly refined and smooth tannins which leave a silky finish. The wine is rewarding now and ready for enjoyment but will also evolve over time with proper cellaring.
