WINEMAKER NOTES
Grand Napa Vineyards is located in the heart of Rutherford, near the foot of Mt. St. John in the Mayacamas mountain range. The varied micro-climate and soils of different California appellation produce a wide range of distinctive flavors. In addition, each vintner implements his own artisan technique. And choosing individual barrel selection. In addition, the application of fermentation and microbiology, producing a great array of stylized wines.

Winemaker Tom Rees enjoyed long stints in the cellars of Charles Krug, St. Supéry, and Rombauer, where he honed his talent for small-lot winemaking.

Blend: 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, & 3% Merlot

Alcohol: 14.7%
93 POINTS - "Juicy black fruit meets powerfully structured tannins and concentrated flavor in this wine, blended with 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot. Sizable oak supports layers of black cherry and currant, along with tense, underlying acidity. Enjoy 2025–2030." - Wine Enthusiast

92 POINTS - "Full-bodied with a deep, dark red hue. The wine starts off with alluring aromas of red and black fruits intermixed with subtle spices, dark chocolate, and cigar box. Led by a myriad of seductive notes of black raspberry, dark cherry, ripe currants and subtle spices, the flavor profile is balanced with additional layers of smooth texture, chewy tannin, and a long, dry finish. In the end, it’s a brilliant selection that lives up to its name: a grand wine with the true character of Napa Valley captured in each sip." - Chris Sawyer
While the Grand Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2015 is a stunning example of this small but truly awesome year. Made from prime plots in Napa and from all five of the allowable varieties in Bordeaux. Yet this beauty was aged for 18 months in French oak and designed for both early drinking—with food—or years of cellaring. Most of all, ripe with a predominantly cherry-inflected fruit profile. Finally, this New World class act is delicately seasoned by its stay in oak with a hint of toasty vanilla on the finish.
