Puntiapart* An wine that is an end and a beginning

Puntiapart is the end of a cycle, the culmination of the long journey commenced by La Vinyeta. Starting with some of the oldest vineyards in the Empordà, located in Mollet de Peralada, this is the winery’s longest and most complex wine.

Alcohol: 14.5%
90 POINTS - "Blackberry, cassis, candied rose and woodsmoke aromas show very good vibrancy and focus. Sappy cherry and dark berry flavors are accented by vanilla and peppery spices, with zesty minerality adding lift. Clings with very good intensity, with the dark berry and floral notes echoing on the finish." - Stephen Tanzer
Cherry color cherry, granatoso edging, high layer and thin very tinted tear. Very good intensity on the nose with aromas of ripe black fruit and jam of blackberries, black plums and blueberries, toasted oak barrels well present and with memories of cedar and cold embers, marked liquor notes, abundant pepper grains, It perceives a certain hardness and concentration in the nose that lets us intuit a fleshy wine in the mouth, red peppers braised, a light rustic touch with notes of moist earth and dry mountain herbs and a soft background of black licorice. Remarkable entry into the mouth with claw and power throughout its journey, a fairly durable astringency and with memories of black licorice, black fruit very tasty and ripe (jams), toasted from the barrel well present and somewhat rough, fleshy, voluminous tannins, very broad and with some weight, powerful, very intense and remarkable structure, great persistence. Very long finish, aftertaste of ripe black fruit and smoked retronasal.
