WINEMAKER NOTES
The 2021 Rancho Santa Rosa Pinot Noir from Lincourt is a testament to the unparalleled quality of Sta. Rita Hills. From the first swirl to the last sip, this wine captures the essence of its cool-climate origins. Bursting with aromas of ripe fruit, dark boysenberry, and intertwined layers of red and black fruit, it sets the stage for a sensory journey unlike any other.

Crafted by Proprietor Bill Foley, Lincourt has been at the forefront of showcasing the potential of Santa Barbara County's Sta. Rita Hills region since 1996. With meticulous attention to detail, Lincourt wines epitomize richness, structure, and a distinct sense of place, reflecting the unique terroir of the AVA.

The 2021 vintage, characterized by a cooler and prolonged growing season, yielded fruit of exceptional concentration. In the Sta. Rita Hills' moderate climate, the grapes achieved optimal ripeness while maintaining a refreshing acidity—a hallmark of wines from this esteemed region. Harvested on October 23, 2021, the fruit showcased unparalleled quality, setting the stage for a remarkable wine.

From vineyard to bottle, every step of the winemaking process was carefully orchestrated to preserve the purity of the fruit. Hand-harvested and sorted, the clusters underwent meticulous destemming to ensure the integrity of the berries. Cold soaking for four days prior to fermentation enhanced color and flavor extraction, while gentle punch-downs nurtured the wine's complexity.

Following primary fermentation, the wine was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, with 20% new oak contributing subtle notes of spice and vanilla. The result is a Pinot Noir of unparalleled elegance and finesse—a harmonious balance of fruit, acidity, and gentle tannins that linger on the palate.

In summary, the 2021 Rancho Santa Rosa Pinot Noir is a testament to Lincourt's commitment to excellence and the unparalleled potential of Sta. Rita Hills. With its captivating aromatics, vibrant fruit flavors, and velvety texture, it promises to elevate any occasion and captivate the most discerning palates. Experience the essence of cool-climate winemaking with Lincourt's latest masterpiece.
