VINEYARD NOTES
Although it has always been known as a great tourist destination, the quaint town of Calistoga at the northern end of Napa Valley is also home to a series of pristine vineyards that are often hidden from public view. For a flavorful example from this region, try the ONE 2012 Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon. Made with fruit from a 19-acre hillside vineyard located on the sloping hillside of the Mayacamas Mountain range west of town
95 POINTS - "This full-bodied wine features a brilliant dark red hue and seductive aromas of ripe berries, blue fruits, toasted brioche, vanilla, and cedar. As wine opens up in the glass, the more dynamic the flavors become. Plush, yet rustic, this magnificent Cabernet offers layers of brambly blackberry, blueberry, mocha and roasted hazelnuts. To soften the dense flavors, the wine is balanced with bright acidity, chewy tannins and additional layers of spice that lead to a long, elegant finish. " Chris Sawyer

90 POINTS - "This is a grippy, soft and bold 100% varietal wine. Made in a voluptuous style, it manages to retain acidity and a piquant sense of black pepper and clove that gives a spiciness to the finish." Wine Enthusiast
A steep hillside vineyard located west of the town of Calistoga, this 19 acre vineyard is planted in rocky volcanic and stony loam soils. Hot days provide color and flavor while cooler nights help maintain acidity and structure. Calistoga has the highest diurnal temperature variations in all of the Napa Valley. The grapes from this climate are characteristic of black fruit profiles.
