FOOD PAIRING
Let’s face it, finding an affordable Pinot Noir from Sonoma County is not an easy task. For that reason, it’s much more special when you find a stylish, low-production gem that over-delivers for the price. With these thoughts in mind, talented winemaker Eric Lyman and the proprietors of ONE crafted just two barrels (70 cases) of this 2013 Pinot Noir with pristine fruit from a special site in Knights Valley that is warm during at the day and naturally cooled down in the afternoon by maritime breezes and the nearby forest that runs along this hidden valley between Healdsburg and Calistoga.
92 Points - "Lovely and distinct with a light crimson hue, the wine opens up with fragrant aromas of ripe red fruits, dried rose petals, hibiscus tea, cinnamon, cocoa and roasted almonds. On the palate, the elegant flavors of wild strawberry, rhubarb and cherry are balanced with subtle hints of toffee, ruby grapefruit zest and savory spices. As the wine opens up, these flavors are complimented with soft, silky texture, perky acidity, and a lingering finish. Young, vibrant, and ready to please in each sip." Chris Sawyer
With fine cuisine, try this medium-bodied wine with soft and tangy cheeses, gourmet salads with fresh berries. grilled fish, gamey meats, pomegranate chicken, and pork tenderloin with berry chutney.
