FOOD PAIRING
Let’s face it, finding an affordable Pinot Noir from Sonoma County is not an easy task. For that reason, it’s much more special when you find a stylish, low-production gem that over-delivers for the price. With these thoughts in mind, talented winemaker Eric Lyman and the proprietors of ONE crafted just three barrels (104 cases) of this 2014 Pinot Noir with pristine fruit from a special site in Knights Valley that is warm during at the day and naturally cooled down in the afternoon by maritime breezes and the nearby forest that runs along this hidden valley between Healdsburg and Calistoga.
93 Points - "The newest example is the One 2014 Pinot Noir. With a gorgeous red hue, the wine opens up with alluring aromas of dark red fruits and ripe berries intertwined with abundant notes of potpourri, forest floor, fresh tobacco, blood orange peel, roasted nuts, and apple-cinnamon spice. Elegant and full-bodied, the wine has lively flavors of ripe plum, dark cherry, cranberry and a chocolate-dipped strawberry that are layered with hints of savory spices, hickory smoke, and sweet oak. With a rich, creamy texture and a long dry finish, it’s a wine that offers a great alternative to the fruitier styles from the more coastal regions in Sonoma County. Even more impressive is the fact that just 104 cases were produced. Rare, unique and ultimately delightful." Chris Sawyer
