FOOD PAIRING
As part of the exciting “Red Wine of the World” project started by Chuck Wagner and his family, who gained world-wide recognition for the high-end wines they produced under their Caymus Vineyards label in Napa Valley. The Red Schooner Voyage 8 is made with premium Malbec grapes grown in the high-elevation Mendoza region of Argentina and aged in fine French oak barrels (50% new) before it was bottled in 2019.
92 POINTS - "In the glass, the intriguing character and spicy attributes of this rich red wine come to life with fetching aromas of crushed violets, ripe berries, blue fruits, vanilla, toffee, allspice, wild herbs and cedar. On the palate, the intensive fruit-driven flavors of blackberry, raspberry, cherry cola and blueberry mingle with distinct notes of mineral, black pepper, cinnamon, clove, and bittersweet chocolate. As the wine opens up, these lush flavors are supported with a smooth texture, supple tannins, and a burst of zesty acidity leading to a lingering finish. A true other- worldly experience in every sip." - Chris Sawyer
90 POINTS - "Voyage 8 shows ripe fruit & a trace of residual sugar. Easy drinking wine. Its aromas and flavors show black fruit and dried leaves." - Wilfred Wong
