TASTING NOTES
Established in 1983, the Paso Robles AVA is a diverse appellation located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, along the California Central Coast. Paso Robles is made up of 45 different soil types with varied elevations and climates leading to the creation of 11 sub-AVAs. Hot days end with coastal breezes that flow over the Santa Lucia Mountain Range to cool the vineyards in the evenings, delivering near perfect growing conditions that allow our grapes to reach optimal maturity, yielding full bodied-- intense color wines with incredible phenolic structure.

Robert Hall Winery straddles the Estrella and Geneseo Districts on the East side of Paso Robles. However, embracing the diverse Paso Robles terroir, our winemakers source fruit from every district in the AVA ensuring the highest quality and producing wines that are truly The Essence of Paso Robles.

91 POINTS - "This wine has a great nose of blackberries still on the vine, earth and sweet spices. Definitely showing maturity and structure at this age. Drinking this wine will be a burst of black fruit, dark chocolate and baking spices with a little hint of the French oak on the finish. The tannis are soft and supple, the acid is light but bright, and can stand drinking alone or enjoyed with hard cheese and charcuterie." - Steve Kleinfeld
Right off the nose, it’s clear this Cabernet means business: Rich, stately aromas of cigar box, saddle leather, and soft baking spice lead into a deeply integrated flavors of ripe dark fruit, anise, and damp earth. Mild tannins provide structure and balance.
