WINEMAKER NOTES
In the heart of Oregon's Dundee Hills, amidst a tumultuous growing season, emerges a testament to resilience and the artistry of winemaking – Sokol Blosser 2022 Redland Cuvée Pinot Noir. Born from adversity, this vintage defied the odds, transforming challenges into triumphs with each sip.

The journey begins with nature's unpredictable hand – a dry winter followed by an unprecedented deluge of spring rains, rewriting history with the wettest and coldest April/May/June in over 130 years. Frosty mornings in mid-April threatened devastation, yet the vineyards persisted. Through the miraculous resurgence of secondary buds and a remarkable shift to the second warmest and driest summer on record, hope blossomed.

With the warmth of October's embrace, the stage was set for perfection. Grapes, carefully nurtured through the adversity, were harvested from Sokol Blosser's Dundee Hills and Kalita vineyards, alongside the renowned Croft Vineyards in the Mt. Pisgah AVA. Crafted with precision, the grapes underwent meticulous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by a harmonious maturation in French oak barrels for 10 months.

Elevating the senses, the Redland Cuvée beckons with a symphony of aromas. Red cherry and currant dance gracefully, entwined with whispers of toast and spice. On the palate, a chorus of flavors unfolds – a medley of ripe cherry and cranberry, embraced by delicate nuances of vanilla and baking spices.

A homage to heritage and terroir, the Redland Cuvée pays tribute to Sokol Blosser's pioneering spirit. Named for the famed Jory soil, rich in minerals from ancient volcanic deposits, this wine embodies the essence of the "Red Hills". A fusion of Pinot Noir sourced from estate vineyards and esteemed sites across the Willamette Valley, it transcends boundaries, uniting distinct AVAs and soil profiles in a symphony of flavors.

As you savor each sip of Sokol Blosser's Redland Cuvée, immerse yourself in the essence of Oregon's winemaking legacy. From vine to bottle, it is a testament to resilience, craftsmanship, and the enduring spirit of the Dundee Hills. Indulge in a journey of discovery, where each glass unveils the story of a vintage unlike any other – a triumph of nature, nurtured by the hands of masters.
