This cold, moist air regulates the hot summer days, extends the growing season, and preserves essential acidity in the grapes throughout the year. Small, hand-tended vineyards tucked alongside the hillside ridges in protected pockets can ripen leisurely, allowing development of the sumptuous fruit and lush velvet texture that have become Russian River’s hallmark.

Silky in the mouth, with an oak driven riff of dark chocolate and noticeable length on the finish. Still solid when tasted the following day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle."
