WINEMAKER NOTES
Xtant represents the pinnacle of vineyard and vintage, with only the finest and most age-wor-thy barrels making the final blend. Winemaker Jeff Gaffner employs gentle and meticulously monitored, small-lot winemaking and extended barrel and bottle aging to promote theextraordinary balance of power, elegance and complexity that are hallmarks of our classically styled Xtant

Alcohol: 14.9%
91 POINTS - "Deep, rich and potent, with a seam of elegance and textural suppleness that bodes well for the future, offering a core of dark berry, lead pencil and cedary oak, backed by extracted tannins. Tasted from magnum. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Best from 2020 through 2035." Wine Spectator

90 POINTS - "A stylish red wine, the 2013 Xtant Red Wine exhibits elegance that often escapes other wineries. This wine is big without being overbearing. Its combination of black fruit, oak, and chalk stay seamless and beautiful from start to finish. Pair it with a juicy charbroiled steak." Wilfred Wong

The 2013 Xtant exhibits a beautiful dark brick color. On the nose, it unfolds aromas of black cherry, cassis, and blackcurrant. Dark fruit and blossoms. Dark chocolate and mocha dust. Sweet pipe tobacco, cedar with slight leather and complex vanilla oak. Beautiful palate entry, with a slight, lifted cranberry note. Very long and seductive with the most elegant tannin structure. Still very tight - even better after opened for a few hours.
